goddamn, that looks like it hurts.

@nandansho Interesting, I always thought Hsing Yi chuan might have contributed to Kara-te. There are many similarities.

@valgorlin I teach xingyi to my high school students for afterschool clubs. You can become proficcient in xingyi in a relatively short period of time. It doesn't take 20 years. Some of the old masters weren't very forthcoming in divulging useful information to their students and sadly that accounted for some misunderstanding in thenature and application if these internal arts.

@lowkickslick its a real martial art in what it developes. mental and physical qualities. 20 years training for 20 second fight.

This is a demo. How could it be free style when the other one seems to be instructed to defend his deceptive indirect attacks?

@xingyimaster1987 agreed. a year after you posted this and i'm still looking for good xing yi vids....

@cioccolatosexy your right actually. i didn't really think of it that way. but that is the spirit of xing yi, and you can't really judge it in a sparing match.
I appears to be a demo of two Xing Yi practitioners in a somewhat freestyle demonstration; not choreographed but not full-fledge striking. I like it because it looks practical. I mean they can't go all out without someone really getting hurt. This is a good representation of how Xing Yi is used...

So is the demonstration really unplanned? This wasn't choreographed or anything? If so, this is amazing!
My only complaint is that the camera wasn't in closer so we could see some of those combinations and in-fighting techniques more clearly.
But I'm satisfied enough. Why aren't their more videos like this?
