Model 93762. Lists for $249, on sale for $189, with 20% coupon got it down to $151.99. Box is heavy. Took out and assembled the base first. Turned the box upside down and attached base to bottom of saw then tilted upright. Documentation is not the best. Quiet saw, used to use a grinder for cutting, not a good choice for accurate cuts. With this stock blade I've cut so far a 1/8" thick 1 1/4 angle iron 10' long and cut in 3 pieces, 10' long 1/8" flat bar/strip cut to 4" strips which are about 15 pieces to practice welding and cut 2 pieces of 1/4" thick steel plate about 2" wide. Frequently oiled during cuts.

  • I modified mine to accept a 66" BiMetal blade. I used my die grinder(also HF) to grind away where it rubbed the caseing. Did this a very long time ago and I'm still on the first blade, the second hung on the wall and origional is hanging with it :)

  • @jacktheripped ....why did you modify to accept the 66" blade? Just curious.

  • It helps blade durability if you move your blade guide over to have the smallest gap between guides, especially cutting something so thin. I have same model, and only cut steel on it...we burn through blades every 4 or 5 days...we are mostly cutting1.5" 1020 DOM tube with a .125 wall...how long does your blade last?

  • @thwrkmns70 .....I still have the original blade on. I've cut mostly mild steel on it such as angle iron, flat bars/strips to make welding projects in the shop and house. I've yet to try a good blade but haven't had the need to. I'd really like to see how long the stock blade lasts. I don't even have a backup blade in case it breaks. I've recently bought more angle irons and flat bars to make a lumber cart. Cyanrockefeller bought the high end blade that HF has and likes it.

  • I have the same saw. I cut Delrin, Nylatron, 6061-T6, 6063, Stainless pipe, 2" solid CRS Steel, etc. And have never oiled once.

This saw really is a work horse. One of Harbor frieghts better machines. Cuts straight. I trimmed 1.5" round stock of aluminum a sliver thinner than a quarter.

P.S. Don't fall for the comparable at Northern Tool for more money. It's the exact same thing only green. Same tooling marks in the casting and everything.

  • @cyanrockefeller ..Yes I agree. What saw blade do you use? Since I know how to weld now I'm going to make a base with wheels to make it easier to roll around without having to tilt the machine on one side to move it.

  • I've cut a few pieces of steel in my day. If I may suggest-- when cutting flat stock, lay it down flat in the vise. That way it will cut straight, but there is not so much pressure on the blade because the weight of the sawblade is spread out over a greater distance and there is more surface to hold the cutting oil also. Cutting this way is a little slower but that gives you time to plan your next move or have a cup of coffee.

  • **Tool gloat**

Picked one up today for 100 clams. Only used twice by a guy who was moving and had to leave it behind. He threw in an extra set of non-chinese blades.

  • @duasdaisy when I got it the stock blade went dull so fast it wasn't funny so I went looking for a BiMetallic blade and at the time couldn't find a 64 1/2" one so I got a 66' and made it fit :)

  • you can never have too much oil or coolant as i would say!! As a machinist it is important too keep cutting tools cool when sawing milling or turning steel also blades last there longest when kept cool and feed and speed rates are correct for the stock your working with

  • is it so loud that you could not use it in a apt? we made a mini achine shop with all hf tools a lathe, mill machine, band saw, table saw, and one of these if they are not to loud hahah Thanks for posting the video Joseph T fly2000jtb

  • Sold me on this saw. Thanks for taking the time to upload this. Awesome video.

  • Thanks for the post, looks like Ill bet getting one soon! Should beat the hell out of using a cutoff wheel on a grinder!!

  • @duasdaisy At first, I used the original blade and thought it did fine. But eventually replaced it with the highest quality blade HF had on the shelf. I don't believe it cuts better, but probably lasts longer, but that's no reason to replace a perfectly good blade prematurly. Good luck on the stand. Consider a tray as your top base in case you ever want to install an oil pump.

  • Yes I would like to try other blades. I still have the stock blade on. I'm learning how to weld so for now all I use the saw for is to cut pieces for welding practice. Recently went back to HF to see their line of blades. They had some bi-metal blades as well. I didn't get it so I don't know if they are good.

  • i love my saw. i just it in the up right position. i replaced the factory blade with one made by the olson company here in the usa. i love it. i use it all the time. if you like you can see some of my videos. thanks from your friend out here in the seattle tacoma area. bob and vangie.

  • Thanks. So far it's worked great. I was informed that I have to make sure the metal is clean when I use it to weld. He mentioned about using water based cutting oil instead of the 3-in-1 oil.

  • Nice vid. Always good to see Harbor Freight vids/reviews on here. I bought the same saw last month for the same price. Good deal...if it works! Thanks for posting!
