  • My gmc had a clutch like youve just put in, it started dragging and got hard to get in gear, so I found a cheap dual mass flywheel & clutch which im putting in now, so im going the opposite way from you. The tranny with 4wd is a bit harder to pull out as theres no room. But thanks for the great video, I found it real helpful with my project.

  • Where did you get the cheap dual mass? What did you get it for?

  • @rustys72 How has your conversion worked out so far. I didn't know anything about these DMF until I seen your video.

  • Not bad. For the first month or two I would get some clutch chatter but that all went away. It must have broken in because its perfectly quiet now.

  • most mechanics are zombies they have very little technical knowledge they just know how to fit/remove parts

  • Did the DMF designer guy do your audio?

  • Ive repaired mine ha ha ha. Not pittin vid on here thou. Pay me £150 ill repair it.

  • Dual mass flywheel is a con, only 1 of many additions by car companies, why not use a bigger clutch pkate with more spring. Cheaper to replace.

  • dont forget folks, if your dual mass flywheel gives up, and you are not sure what to do, you could always hang yourself!

  • my mums ford focus has a duel mass it broke on 15,000 miles, i heared there known to break, is there any way of preserving them?

  • Not always the case with the 7.3. I own one and the cheapest dual mass is $1400.00 new and even the conversion kit was $1000.00. I did ALOT of shopping around. I just ended up buying one that was in great shape off a buddy who did an engine swap and he opted for the conversion. Final price of the used dual mass was a case of beer lol.I did get it checked out and its in good shape. Anyways, I think all diesels are expencive to repair. Good vid tho man.
