New Homemade UHF / GMRS Repeater

Specifications:
Transmitter: Midland G-11 2 Watt HT

Receiver: Radioshack PRO-96 Digital Scanner

Case: From an old Cobra 139

Controller: IBM laptop running repeater controller software
There is a cooling fan on the back that blows air straight into the transmitter, and one on the inside of the unit that sucks air into the case.

Antenna's: I don't have a duplexer, so I have 2 quarter wave antenna's mounted about 30 feet off the ground (on the roof of my house)

Range is about 2 - 6 miles depending on conditions and radios used.

@hafd107 As far as I know ANYTHING that is able to send, receive or otherwise interact with radio, infrared or even bluetooth has to be licensed by the FCC due to the fact that even if it does not directly communicate upstream and or downstream on any of those, it may still cause interference to other devices that are licensed and legally operating
