Vowing to go home to Tara even if she has to walk every step of the way and threatening to kill Rhett if he tries to stop her, Scarlett begins her journey from Atlanta as a scared little girl. She will rise from the ashes of Tara's burned garden like a phoenix, a courageous woman determined to survive famine and defeat.

Yes, it is... and it is one of the rare moments in the movie when we see what Margaret Mitchell made so clear in the book: that Scarlett is determined and stubborn and perceived as bitch... but she is also a frightened, vulnerable girl of (in this scene) 19 facing struggles and enduring traumas we could never dream of! It also reveals that her true love is neither Ashley nor Rhett... but home... Tara.
