In the bank where The Mayfair Movie Theatre use to be is this big photo of Cottman Ave and Frankford Ave from 1951....i use to love to go to The Mayfair Movies when i was a kid...35 cents to get in...Double Feature movies...One hour of The Three Stooges and one hour of cartoons....Those Were The Days :o)

I wasn't born yet when this pix was taken... but I love the past when the world seem to be a safer and relaxed place . I did go to the Mayfair movies from 1970 up until it closed... miss those days , thanks for sharring !!

I lived in Tacony, but enjoyed shopping in Mayfair at Mariannes, Goodmans, and Woolworths in the good old days...thanks for posting, it sure brought back a lot of good memories.

I grew up in Mayfair. I was an usher at the Merben, Mayfair and the Liberty theatres. (Liberty was on Torresdale Ave.) My Dad has a drycleaning shop at Marsden and Wellington, Sts. We lived 4538 Loring and my Grandparents At 3608 Hartel.
