Kayak Explorers Manatee Park Fort Myers-
The Kayak Explorers group met at the Manatee Park launch and went down the Orange River to the Caloosahatchee River. En route we saw hundreds of manatees in the warm waters. There were many babies with mothers and we also saw schools of rays. We paddled out to the big sculpture of manatees in the Caloosahatchee River adjacent to the I-75 bridge. On the way back the water patrol were going in to the water in snorkeling gear to remove a buoy that had gotten attached to a manatee. There were many other paddlers around as well as locals fishing and enjoying the fine day. Approx 4.5 miles round trip-leisurely paddle - mostly floating with the current checking out the wildlife.
Looks like an awesome time. What's the song in the background and who is picking that guitar?
