These are all just a bunch of random phrases that I think are cute. So... use them. Two of these I can't find any of the writing for [which therefore means that i'm spelling it wrong] so don't worry. I'll find it later.

Vocab:

Me, too - kochirakoso [hiragana: こちらこそ] [kanji: none]

Congratulations - omedetou gozaimasu [hiragana: おめでとうございます] [kanji: お目出度う]

Thank you very much - arigatou gozaimasu [hiragana: ありがとうございます] [kanji: 有り難うございます]

You're welcome - do itashi mashite [no idea]

Excuse me - sumimasen [hiragana: 有り難うございます] [kanji: 済みません]

A pre-meal saying - itadakimasu [again, no idea]

Goodnight - oyasuminasai [hiragana: 済みません] [kanji: 御休みなさい]

  • Wow...I can't believe I now just saw the japanese speaking version of Lily Allen.....you have the same great smile...the same bright eyes and even your voice sounds alike....( I LUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRV Lily btw...) Oh...and no: you don't have to fear me, because I want Lily to be my faghag....LOL. I bow my head to your japanese!!!

  • @gyqz I lol'd. I also love Lily Allen. In fact, for a friends party (celebrity themed) I was told to go as her since I couldn't think of anyone else I looked like. It worked out pretty well.

  • こんいしわ おやすみなせいLong word

  • It's actually "こんにちは".

  • no offense but my bff's from japan actually know and can speak the language better then u and they r fluent in it

  • Well no shit. If they're from Japan, of course they're fluent. It's kind of rude and obnoxious to leave this on someone's page without fully recognizing that this was made nearly a year ago, therefore meaning my skills have since improved.

  • Hi,Kate I'm a Japanese guy studying English for fun. I don't know if you understand the rude comments written in Japanese below. It's not written by a Japanese for sure. I can tell that easily. Could be someone learning Japanese and being hostile toward you with rivalry. Just don't worry about it.

    You are doing fine!

  • Wow you speak japanese so well!! It's true!(because actually I'm Japanese) You're welcome is "どういたしまして" in Hiragana, and "どう致しまして" in Kanji. And also, Itadakimasu is "いただきます" and "頂きます".

  • japanese lessons from a gaijin who isn't even sure of the language

"i'm not sure and I can't actually be bored to look it up"

  • こにゃにゃちは~ おやちゅみなさい~

  • Hey, buddy.

Good try and I like your Japanese and I respect your attitude towards those negative comments.

Keep working on the language and come to Japan!

I do get nervous about my English pronounciation. but it is way better to speak up than being silent and being perfect on pronounciation, eh?

Give me some advice on my English if you have time. I will post more.

  • Sorry, I was reading some of the comments from far back, and I just had to say I find it hilarious when fellow Americans say "OHNOE MAN, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS VURY COMPLEX JAPANESE CULTURE. SO TYPICALLY AMERICAN."

xD Honestly, they make me laugh. A few more newly learned words, thanks :D Oh, and two comments below me... I find it hard to believe that comment wasn't posted to offend.

  • あいしてる
