I lived there in the early eighties and loved it! Great night life and the amusement park was a great little place to get cheap thrills. I miss that area, Hampton coliseum was always bring in good names.
Back in the late 80s I used a metal detector to help find ordanance that was dredged on the beach to exapand it back then. Hampton Roads is a great place and I miss it.
I live right down the street from this place. I worked there as a lifeguard in summer of '08.. great place. I wish they could keep it as one thing though. they keep adding on and removing stuff.
Hahaha...wow. I used to live about 5 minutes away and would go out there every day with my acoustic guitar. I sat on the boardwalk playing and enjoyed the "amphitheater" (if you an call it that) back in the days before Isabel when it had that ugly white tent type thing on it.
Of course, my earliest memory of Buckroe is the rollercoaster...my first one ever! And wasn't there some kind of haunted house thing? Blackbeard's Ghost or something like that?? Those were the days!
plenty of niggers, trash and thieves from Pembrooke stealiung everything in sight!

Bark Park no longer exists but the Amphitheater is still lovely. There's a new fishing pier. What a great view and a great place. Great people, too.
