Platform snare trap

Place the trap over a small depression on the game trail. When the platform is depressed the trigger is released and the game held firmly by the leg.

This is a good trap, and reasons why is because it's platform covers a significantly larger surface area for the prey to step on,compared to other traps, giving higher chances of trapping an animal. Because the platform surface isn't irregular, hiding some leaves over top of the wooden platform and string would be a good idea. Some animals like rabbits or raccoons can still be very smart, and avoid these suspicious traps like these.

Thanks for posting this vid. My father taught myself and my brothers this trap and we caught wild pig all our lives in Hawai'i. I'd say though, you might wanna shorten the top of the trigger for quicker accuracy, it only needs to be about an inch to an inch and a half higher than the bent stick, that way it takes lesser time to curve under, or it won't accidentally get caught on something coming out and up. Thanks again for posting. I intend on sharing what I know when I get my camera updated.
