So Xtians pick on this as an absurd aspect of their cult ? For people who unquestioningly swallow every pearl from one particular strand of ancient bullshit, like how mankind's moral code came from chatty creosote and everyone was cool with that virgin mother - and you're picking on the segment that have to look like rejects from Keane when Hillsonging the youth club down at the Holy Christ Almighty prefab of praise? Hypocrisy and a concomitant lack of self-irony was always your strong point.
@austinrees You're not talking about the book of Acts Christianity, you're talking about man-made, watered down junk that oppressed people and forced them to become 'religious' for years and years and years.
You forget that that for the most part of Its history Christianity has been an over the top affair. Its very symbol, the crucifix, is very melodramatic and emotional. The Reformation tried to make Christianity less theatrical and more cerebral, but it seems that Christianity always reverts back to ostentatious and trite rubbish.
