Mantovani (1905-1980) was an Italian conductor whose orchestra was known for its "cascading strings" sound. He is more associated with the light orchestra genre (later called easy listening) more than any other entertainer. Louis Armstrong (1901-1971) , nicknamed Satchmo was an American jazz trumpeter and singer who was renowned for his charismatic style and instantly recognizable gravelly voice almost as much as for his trumpet playing.

For this video, Mantovani and his Orchestra plays the easy listening version of La Vie En Rose, and Louis Armstrong plays the trumpet and sings the English version of the song.

  • I have both of these. I think I have every recording of La Vie En Rose there is. However, you really know how to take video and music and transport a person to a lovely place. Thank you.

  • @ReadMeReadYou You're welcome. I just finished doing another combo. I hope you'd like it too.
