you want a clean amop with 6L6? 5751 preamp with high supply voltage and a linear workpoint and a se 6L6 for power amp. 6550 is more linear. sorry for bad english, i'm german.

@TRXSlashPWR Have fun trying to get a clean 8wpc with 6L6 types. The 300b will all day long. Those 6L6's are great for push-pull with only single cathode and single ended aren't even on the same level as 300b or 2a3.

why SE? And why 300B? A triode for using as power amplifier is not very efficient. 5881 or 6550 are much better in effectivity.

i get the meters via ebay from a guy in hongkong. these are very cheap meters and i will replace them very soon by a pair of NOS General Electric meters. More than 50 years old :-)
