Another meme thought to have originated on the internets is revealed to have much older roots, thanks to the recent discovery of this trailer for the 1936 Republic Pictures feature "Pirates vs. Ninjas vs. Zombies vs. Robots." Or it could be a mashup of public domain movies I finished last night. WATCH bitter enemies battle without appearing on screen at the same time! SEE the forbidden love of a pirate for a zombie! DON'T MISS Boris Karloff as Col. Sanders!

For a detailed list of the movies used in this mashup, see http://evilbobdayjob.tripod.com/2008_04_01_archive.html#3985419797976736497

  • what software did u use to make those titles?

  • Ulead Visual Studio. Came bundled with our video camera, I think. I'd like to find something to give it a better look of aged film, but it works pretty well. More features than the latest version of Windows (Live) Movie Maker.

  • hey what about vampirers you should of a;so put that in.....oh and ailens

  • I made a cartoon mashup called "Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyls" which covers Monkeys vs. U-Boats vs. Robots vs. Fur Pirates. Maybe vampires vs. aliens vs. trains vs. bikers will be next. Seriously, I've been thinking of some cool old train stunts to put together, and I could fit "Horror Express" in with that, then use footage of Christopher Lee as vampire. Thanks, that's good food for thought.

  • "You don't feel dead." Lol!

My money's on the zombies, although Charles Laughton looks pretty menacing.

    Great job, deidzoeb!

  • Good, I was afraid those lines during the "forbidden pirate-on-zombie" action wouldn't be clear. "You were beautiful when you were ALIVE." It looks better in color with that actress in gray facepaint, but I turned all the clips black-and-white to look consistent.
