Deere 653A row crop header owned by Phil Werner of Streator, Illinois. I also show two videos of this machine in action. One is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUwDrkJg7Q4 Phil and his Dad have farmed across the fence from my Dad and Grandfather for many years. Video by Lawyerdude.

  • No, we plant beans in 7.5 inch rows. I think Phil is making a mistake with his 30 inch rows. Nonetheless this video depicts machinery that was new to me. Phil will eventually have 7.5 inch rows. We have another neighbor who plants corn in 36 inch rows instead of 30. I experimented with 20 inch corn back in 1966.

  • You plant your beans on 30" rows?
