Jani Kivioja, research leader at Nokia Research Centre Cambridge, talks about a kind of "nano-nose", based on a nanowire F.A.T. based molecular sensor which monitors changes at a molecular level. In the future this kind of technology could be used to detect changes in air quality or contaminants in the air.

  • Man that's so fake... You can tell that guy is from kentucky and he's just faking that accent, and the screen, if you look at 1:13, you can tell it's been photoshopped. Then at the end, when they pretend to be all happy, yeah right, like they are going to smile for the camera and stuff, everyone knows you can't smile if you work in a lab. Also, note, no pocket protectors - real scientists have pocket protectors or spots on their lab coats. super fake.

  • I know this guy...he is one of the leading summer cottage builders of Finland. Truly amazing guy...nothing is impossible to him...nanosensing, roof building, keeping his lab coat always clean... A true Finnish hero.

  • @TheAppliantologist I'm working for Nokia R&D - so I can calm you down: this is absolutely NO fake. This technology might scare you, because it still seems impossible and futuristic today, but it's really true!!

Also have a look at: watch?v=ZOJ2QSioTA0&feature=related

  • @pimpelipompeli he's a real Finn.

  • @TheAppliantologist usually at 80-100C

  • Yeah sounds like a southern US accent, but why would he lie to Nokia. This make no sense.

  • @masterli2000 Nano Minute? that's fake for sure. I did my investigation, and it showed that you can't have a Nano Minute, only Nano Seconds.. FAKE, And besides, it lasted 1:43 which is way more than a minute, it's almost 2! Look it up on Wikipedia if you don't believe me!

  • @pimpelipompeli Are you trying to say you're Finnish too? There's one sure way to find out: What temperature is your sauna set at?

  • @Juhobui Boy he sure has you fooled. Can pool the wool over my eyes, I recognize a kentucky accent anywhere, My wife/cousin is from mountains there sounds just like him. Everyone knows there is only one hero in all the history of Finland, Simo Häyhä. If this guy actually lived in Finland, pronounced all his words with the accent on the first syllable, had a box of Finn Crisps and Ottermanni cheese on his desk, it'd be more believable... the only Finn he's remonding me of is Huckleberry Finn

  • There is nothing fake in this demo. Please stop if you don't know and please investigate more before publish your opinion. Thanks

  • @TheAppliantologist Except that guy is from Finland and we tend to speak english like that, not everybody though.

  • @ashtonkonon yeah hot finnish girls huh....

  • OMG!!! i so wanna work in nokia laboratory now! =D

  • it will be a deadly smartphone when they implemented it in the future days hahaha, nice ^^

  • Knight Rider did it!!

  • Jani äijä :D

  • wow, crazy technology!
