About the poll: It is really all about the newspeak.

If you were asked, "Do you support 'tough' interrogation tactics," you'd probably say yes. I know I would.

If you were asked, "Do you support TORTURE," I'd say no. Being "tough" doesn't necessarily mean "torturing people."

And then you have to figure a fair number are uninformed about waterboarding actually being torture. I would say, if Billy is so convinced it's not, he should try it (voluntarily, of course) and see for himself.

If it's NOT torture, then he would have no reason to change his opinion because he's not being tortured. If it is, however, he can get out of it easily by just admitting the truth, which doesn't even have any grave consequences for him.
