Personally, I think the movie and the book symbolizes what would happen if you ticked off a vietnam vet. In fact, in the police station, what happened did symbolize the level of disrespect they recieved when they returned.

actually you should ask those iraqis if they are happy with you being there instead of americans who got nothing to do with it.
and all iraqis including me dont want you there, you ruined alot, they got the right to fight americans in iraq that dont make em terrorists.

You can talk about the VN war and all, but with today's issues of police brutality against veterans like Jose Guerna. Did anyone catch what set Rambo off in the beginning? Police brutality incident, clear and simple. Dudes don't "freak out" when they are treated right.

Ron Paul 2012!

@ktm5194 I agree, Stallone was superb in this movie. All people ever see is his performance in movies like "Judge Dredd" and his mumbling.

@kentonjkobza short answer? It goes back to the Vietnam War, which most people did not agree with. A majority of the men that went over were draftees, and when accusations of "war crimes" arose it was assumed all soldiers were "baby killers" (rather ironic since most of these people are pro-abortion) it would take a long time to explain I suppose.

@Helmutlozzi War is never something to enter into lightly. But you obviously missed the part where he said that people were spitting on him and calling him all sorts of vile crap. Who are they to protest them until they've been him. I can sympathize. Every time I hear Code Pink or Cindy Sheehan talk. Anti-war activists trying to relive their glory days in Vietnam. I saw that same crap when getting back from Iraq.

@atempo206 the last thing he says in Rambo II also strike home as well.
-
@madmedic92 Well, in my opinion it's showing a deeper picture of war, and how it fucks up everyone.

@Helmutlozzi You obviously missed the whole point of this movie. Its not anti-war (in fact it has something to say about those fuck stick protestors) Its about not understanding the Warrior.
I love the moment when Trautman hugs Rambo. Rambo practically has ZERO family, and his commanding officer - someone you don't usually cry in front of - is the last person he personally knows.
One of my favorite movie scenes. Always makes me cry.

Great anti-war movie. If only the world could learn from this and stop listening to the fucks with the money that just wants to earn more money.
