SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Dark Was The Night: Dirty Projectors close the set with a stripped-down read on "Knotty Pine." David Byrne, who sang on the studio version, isn't present, but it's awesome to watch the audience trying to sing along to Dave Longstreth's complicated vocal part. Camera @ Vincent Moon

  • It's easy to label something with "pretentious" if you don't understand it.

This music is a breath of fresh air.

  • Fucking great song

  • @peteetep16 whats wrong with making passionate music and being very passionate about it. Now a days making music have turned into just making a mediocre beat and singing just to please the whole crowd. the point of doing something you love is to be very passionate about it, if not whats the point you see

that's what i think makes them good

  • Also can someone explain the title "BItte Orca"? Is that like an in-joke or reference?

  • @vanillaskynet

Perhaps I have pretension confused with over-artiness? They're great passionate musicians, but they can seem a little too affected for me and it's off-putting. Not that the music isn't great though, I played this for all my friends, a couple coworkers, my mom, my brother, girlfriend...

  • i don't get how they are pretentious, you are the pretentious ones, because they make good music with real understanding and mastering of melodies, if that makes them pretentious then i'm a fan of it. if you know how far dave has come you will see he is far from that, he wouldn't care if only 10 people listened to his songs

  • @peteetep16 in what way? stop being part of the crowd, you are the pretentious one, if you have meet them or listen to their music and see how far dave has come you will think different

  • @TheSasha555 there's nothing emo about this dumb shit

  • splendid

  • God I love emo.

    It's so fucking artsy.
