You should look at how many ''western'' people are becoming Muslims every day. This is not about immigration. @MrCropper Actually, when you look at Confucianism, it's a self help guide to pursue knowledge and individuality. While Taoism is a self-help guide to the simple life. As for Buddhism, it's very similar to Epicureanism. Also Taoism and Confucianism have nothing to do with a god. The main books to look into are The Analetics and The Tao Teh Ching. On the contrary, I recommend looking into The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi, and Sun Tzu's The Art of War.

After reading Sonnet 14, read Macbeth. I think that might clarify the poem for you. Nonetheless, I wouldn't read British nationalism into the sonnets--especially in light of the play Othello.

@MrCropper Can't say that about Buddhism though. Without Buddhism, there would be no ancient Skepticism, which was founded by Pyrrho of Elis, who traveled with Alexander to India to study under the Buddhists or "naked philosophers". Also without Skepticism there's no Epicureanism, and no modified version of the atomic theory... in turn brought about quantum mechanics that is either deterministic or libertarian.
