Crossing Into The Blue

Today, I took my oath of office and officially accepted my appointment as a 1Lt. in the United States Air Force. We were on our way back from a bit of a mini-vacation and I wasn't expecting to be swearing in; thus the "no-makeup, fly-away-hair, etc." look I am sporting.

We had stopped by my father-in-law's home on the way back from checking out my base assignment at Beale AFB. Since he is a retired Air Force Officer, he wanted to do the honors of swearing me in. The Pentagon faxed over my oath papers and next thing I know, I'm "right-handing" it. I couldn't stop smiling the whole time.
