  • Also I add sand but stones can be too smooth

I leave in molds for 5-7 days then put in big garbage bin (full of water) for 21 days to cure and strengthen

    See how you go

    cheers

  • wow so u use cement with say quikrete?

that's a good idea since i have found that quikrete 5000 by itself makes for a very rough stone. i may try adding cement to make it smoother. i saw an internet recipie online that calls for 1 part portland cement to 1 part sand. if that doesn't work right ill try your method. i've made two 100lb stones already with a detatchable handle.

    pretty neat.

  • Yes , make own stones ( use Slater Stone Molds

tend to go 1 bag (20kgs) cement to 2 bags (20kgs) of concrete mix

use as little water as you can

should divide water in KGS by cement KGS

    ( 1 litre = 1kgs)

ratio should be 0.5 or less

so 12 litres water divided by 40kgs of cement =0.3

the lower the water content the stronger the stone.

For a 100kgs stone - would use 60kgs concrete mix/40kgs cement and 12 litres of water approx

    - if ya need more advice -comment me back

  • do u make your own stones?

if so what concrete mix do u use?
