Acid attack victims demand justice - 1 Feb 09

Last year, Al Jazeera reported on two teenage girls who suffered appalling injuries when acid was thrown in their faces on their way to school in Afghanistan.

It was one of a series of attacks blamed on the Taliban.

Shamsia Husseina and her sister Atifa returned to school in January, determined to continue their education.

But new threats have left them living in fear for their lives once again.

Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports.

"acid was thrown" this is the passive tense, one only uses it when trying to hide the agent. Any 7th grade english student can tell you that. I have some respect for your reporting methods and presentation but blatantly downplaying the fact that these women are being brutalized by Taliban fighters is disgusting.

China has been attacked by radical religious group that wants to control China and Asia as well. Acid attack is common in the Middle East, Africa, India, Pakistan, and in Indonesia by moslems terrorists on non-moslems [especially women] that dont cover their faces with hijab or borque to force them to submit to sharia law of Islam. In Pakistan they attack girls that go to school or colleges because it is prohibited for moslem women to get educations in those countries. Check youtube for videos

Every person has a right to believe what he wants.

All things considered, being an atheist probably makes you more humane than most religious people.

A pretty substansial amount of the suffering this world has seen has been and is being caused by religion or people hiding behind religion
