Here are two of the nicest old girls you would ever want to run into on a beautiful winters Sunday. I took delight in filming these locos for you to view where ever you maybe viewing from.

The 3642 is one of three survivors of the class of 75 locomotives introduced as express passenger engines in 1925. Following its withdrawal from revenue service, locomotive 3642 was used by the NSWRTM for steam tours. Then after it received a replacement boiler in 1981, it was used by the State Rail Authority for tours as its 'Steam Excitement' locomotive, until 1989, when it reverted to an NSWRTM tours engine. Its last tour was in 1996, after which it failed a boiler inspection and it has since been on static display at Thirlmere.

Throughout its service life, it received the various modifications common to the class, and was rebuilt with new frames and cab in July 1940 when the class suffered from frame cracking. After the loco's rebuild, 3526 was one of many to receive the lined green paint scheme. 3526 was one of only three engines specially painted in 'Caves Express' colours in the early 1930s, the other two were 3506 and 3535. 3526 was withdrawn from service in 1967 and was retained for preservation, allocated to the NSW Rail Transport Museum were it remained operational until 1974. The loco was repainted to its 'Caves Express' colours. With the transfer of the Museum from Enfield to Thirlmere in June 1975, it travelled to Thirlmere under its own steam. It did not steam again until 2004 .
