  • The beginning of this episode is the perfect example of why I love this show so much.... He doesn't just say "open up a can of whole, uncooked tomatoes..." He actually explains exactly WHY he likes the whole ones, over the crushed, diced, stewed, etc...

It's less like the "watch me cook a recipe" format of most other cooking shows, and actually teaches you TECHNIQUE, and the SCIENCE LOGIC behind cooking to make recipes make more sense. Especially if you have to improvise or make something up.

  • For me, GE is the perfect cooking show. I don't just want to cook, I want to understand what's going on. Once you understand what's going on, you can truly cook. It's easy to make a recipe, it's a true cook who can create without a recipe.

AB makes it possible for anyone to understand how to put together a meal, or dish, from scratch. This show inspires creativity for me. Thanks so much AB, and thanks to LTH and Khadgar for putting up these episodes.

  • 4:00 What?! No "I'm Lever Man!"

I guess he didn't get invented yet

  • I was always told that "A dull knife will cut you quicker than a sharp one."

  • Haha, the title is so dirty for this one.

  • Ha!! I used to work somewhere that had our knives sharpened by a professional. Those knives were freakin spooky sharp. I sheered off the tip of my knuckle slicing fruit and didn't even realize until my cutting board was covered in my own blood. I don't agree with honing knives with the edge of the knife grinding into the steel though facing forward. My dad, and grandpa always told me to slide the knife down the steel facing back to keep as much of the edge on the knife as possible.

  • That F. Dick Multi-Cut is a BEAST of a steel!

  • @boblabon - Glass cutting boards by far (Dark Lord of the Syth, EVIL).
