hello...strumming patterns IMO are best 'felt' - try to lock into the groove of the song and not as concerned about up and down 'patterns' - my other suggestion would be to get a feel for it slow and then try to speed up your strumming. Not sure what you mean about 'bounce up and down' - thanks for watching!
