What do you mean almost - this is just cowardly and Howard seems to want to avoid embarrassment. My favorite NBA matchup today is the Hawks versus Howard and his Orlando idiots (evenArenas now). When they play I can count on a lil 6'7" guy putting Howard to shame a few times!

Remember that Howard managed good numbers against the Hawks: 15.5TRB, 27.0PPG and almost 2.0BPG + 43MP... he never seemed exhausted!

Also, do you realize that Russell almost did the same thing to Wilt in playoffs (Wilt literally ‘’ran’’ away), but Wilt later raised the bar up and finished with a double-double… Every athlete on this league has been dunk on. No matter what, you should bring you’re A game, mainly when you miss a play (like Wilt did, like Howard did).

When Josh Smith Tomahawk Howard, on that very attempt, Howard didn't give a fuck about his defensive presence (he wasn’t scared)!

He had a bad first quarter, BUT he finished the game with 46PTS, 19TRB and even blocked Josh Smith on a penetration (FG%=69.6)!

That’s how great players are: they made bad plays, but later they raise the bar higher!
