『超級女声』（Super Girl スーパーガール）は、中国湖南省の衛星テレビ局、湖南衛視台の超人気ｵｰﾃﾞｨｼｮﾝ番組です。２００４年・２００５年・２００６年の３シーズン放映されました。特に、こ­の２００５年の予選参加者は１５万人にも及び、地方局にもかかわらず視聴者は全国で延べ４億人に達し、８００万票の投票が殺到するという大ブームを巻き起こしました。一時­は中央テレビの番組を上回る最高視聴率を記録したということです。この番組の成功を経営学課程に取り入れた中欧商学院の孫俊氏は、「『超級女声』は娯楽番組だが、それ自体­が高い市場経済学的価値を有している。テレビ史や経営学史に残る番組になるだろう」と高く評価しています。
「張靚穎（ﾁｬﾝ･ﾘｬﾝｲﾝ）」(英語名Jane・Zhang)は、この２００５年に、１５万人中第３位となっています。

When pple find that ZLY sings English songs better than Chinese, they dont mean she sings Chinese songs worse than other singers, they r just complimenting her flawless presentation of English songs which r more difficult than Chinese songs. Don't take it too seriously. When u don't find Chinese songs boring, that's largely ur personal taste which I must respect. The difference btwn tea and coffee lies in caffeine concentration.

I agree that Chinese songs are generally easy in terms of rhythm. But I don't think it is boring in singing Chinese songs even I often sing English songs and listen to music from different period of time and different countries.

Most people feel bored just because there are too many similar songs, making you don't have the mood to find a good one. Indeed, if you have some people who share good songs with you frequently, you won't get bored.

This is the same for English songs too.

Agree that Chinese song is not as complicated as English usually. I understand the reason but I should not write too much here.

But I mean the language itself is not free enough when singing because Chinese words have fixed tones and have to modify the original written pitch a bit by sliding down/up when singing. Also, the vowel changes for one note because of the word.

Well, all depends. Some singers would prefer to have fixed tones and beats which would give them an easy time to control their voices. I find all the Chinese songs too easy. Once u begin to sing English songs, u'll find it boring to go back to Chinese songs. It's like the choice btw tea and coffee. That's my take.

What I think is that the voice can be easier to be controlled when singing in English than in Chinese. Also, there is more freedom to modify the melody when she sing in English. Chinese has some fixed tones that will make it more restricted.

Why is it commonly believed that zly sings English songs better than Chinese songs? That's because English songs are in general better composed and fit zly's vocal conditions to the best.
