  • Beware!

    The ice has broken!

Maestro Holopainen rows the warship Nightfish!

These Rowers from the Land of the Midnight sun have once again come out of the frozen forests and taken to the seas to plunder our hearts!

They have brought with them a golden-voiced maiden captured in Sweden!

    Or is she a Valkyrie?

I am slain. I ride to Valhalla on the wings of Anette's voice. I hope they come to pillage my village.

There are no bad songs from Nightwish.

May they return to conquer again and again.

  • WOW this is amazing!! I knew it would be great if she sang this song but I had no idea it would be this amazing!! I LOVE ANETTE!!

  • exactly right! singing does not have genres, only music

  • @Felinestance I think the classifications of modern singing depend a lot on what music is sung to. While Jazz uses more head voice than Rock and Pop, and Metal adds growls to the repertoire, the difference between Rock and Pop often just lies in whether you're singing in a Rock band or a Pop group.

Also, as far as I have been taught about ranges, whether classical or modern, Anette's range is mezzosoprano these days.

  • @EndlessCompassion The lirico leggiero classification can correspond only to lyrical singing voices. She said: "If I would use classical singing" not that she was one. Anette is a soprano, but one of popular singing style, and sadly Its different variations aren't well classified.

  • when i went to this concert i realasied i'm ntot he only one who likes nw...and

that anette was a goodn singer

but it also scared me...twoealy old women were in fornt of me and headbangin really scarinly...

  • great work Anette:)

never thought she could ever sing this song! let give her a shot she s working hard:)

  • This proves that Nettie is superior vocalist compared to tarja.

  • aaaw it was so awesome when they played this. I never thought they would do this song ever again :P I love her voice

  • She's a soprano, in fact. :)

This is taken from her blog: "I really dont know my range anymore since its been so long since we checked it. But I am a soprano and if I would use the classical singing more I would be lyrical I think. I have a very wide range and can use both very low notes and high notes. In my belting I can come very high up and in the head voice I am working on it to get higher."

I have also assumed she was one, too. A lirico leggiero one, to be more exact. :)

  • Hey! Just like JRad said already, are you sure it was Meadows of Heaven? I think they NEVER played it or even rehearsed it for a live concert, so I was like *gasp* when I read your comment.

  • Are you sure it was meadows of heaven?
