The City I work for used to have a Wayne Sweeper back in the 80's and early 90's (way before my time). From what I've heard it had awesome performance. I've been told that if the sweeper went over a pothole that had some loose asphalt, it would sometimes suck large chunks of it up! However, I've also heard that it used to tear up all the time. It literally stayed in the shop more than it did on the road. The sweepers today may be a lot better though.

@GeneralSirDouglasMcA I believe you are speaking of the Wayne Sweepers based out of California, which no longer exists. Our company was started in 2007 by Wayne Engineering (a 50 year old refuse truck manufacturer) in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
