British Pantry in Washington, USA

Notes: I made this way back when I was 15 or so. Now I'm 20. Back then, I was a part of a international video community and I got connected to a few Brits then. Conversations turned to food and I was curious about what could be different. I mean, we eat a lot of the same things, I figured they had what we had and we had what they had. Well, turns out they have a lot of things I had never tried before. That got me excited so I set out to try them.

And if you have anything negative to say after this video, well, you need to relax...

  • WHY I always have a feelin´ that when I see a video of a American (talking about USA and different country) it seems that Americans always TRY to prove or SAY us that our country is NOT TOO good like USA ??!!!

  • @jesspodcast I actually don't know why you have that feeling. Haha, maybe it's all in your head. You think I drove 40 minutes to get British food and say it's worse than American food? American food [can be] pretty crap and processed. I tend to just cook my own. But I wasn't doing this to compare, it was merely an exploration of some things I had never tried before. Goodness -- I didn't even mention the USA in this as a comparison. I think "why" is because you're high in anxiety...

  • @Roosterruler It was not just to ur video.I know a lot of people who do this "What I was saying bvefore" . No offenence

  • @jesspodcast Haha, ok. None taken. Just kinda random that you would do that rant on the video of a little girl trying out new food. Not sure you make complete sense yet, but that's alright... don't be so uptight next time you comment, it just gets you wound up over nothing.

  • haha quite fun watching your evaluation of our choc. when i was in the states i liked 'ButterFinger', and the American style Twix was tastier than the Brit one I though. Reese's Pieces was my favourite

Try a Bounty yet? nice coconut taste. very addictive

  • @EvilKris I love Bounty!! Love love love! First had them when I lived in Switzerland.

  • I AM BRITISH AND I AM AN EPIC WIN :D :D

  • @xEmilyJoan Reality check: The UK is nearing the same obesity rates as the US.

Also, the girl in this vid is not fat- she is a growing girl, and looks very healthy. Please bite your nasty tongue, and don't make generalizations about people. It betrays your narrow mind and poor education. It seems you really resent Americans, but we are all individuals, and I'm quite sure that not all Brits are as nasty as you are.

  • The British Connection Gig Harbor, WA

  • @lektorlondon I might be offended by your comment if you could actually spell, use correct grammer and punctuation and didn't come across as an uneducated troglodyte parroting stereotypical viewpoints.

  • @jamieeward The shopkeeper sounds like she's from Birmingham or the West Midlands, I think.

  • Im British and lived in Seattle for 15 years. I'm from the North of England, the same area the owners of this shop are from and the baked goods they sell are very "northern" english. (good shortcrust pasty). Southern English pies and stuff tends to use Flaky or Puff Pasty. (bleah)

Needless to say, I have probably spent close to a 1000 bucks over the years here on pies, marrowfat peas, mars bars etc.....

  • @lektorlondon you don't know what good English mean.
