Scalia tells the story. I was hard on him the last time I posted a video of him. Now I repent by showing him how profound his words really were this time.

  • Hilarious, yes, I know.

What I meant to imply with the clip, however, is that the USA has progressively lost its religious diversity, with fundamentalist evangelicals swallowing a significant portion of total American Christianity over the past 100 years.

It is this concentration of religious authority that gives lunatics a chance (and plenty of attempts & funding!) of kicking science out of the classroom, and out of our society.

The USA should take fundamentalists off TV & tax them.

  • The clip implies the exact opposite, saying America has 300 religions oppose to Frances 2 is Scalia showing that we have many religions.

  • Yeah Scalia does, but as I said, I'd argue that America HAD 300 religions, but has lost much religious diversity over the past 100 years (and France has gained some, although it still resists it) and the U.S. stands to lose a lot more given the manipulative powers of autocratic bastards like Pat Robertson.

  • how can you NOT love this man? he is so cuddly wuddly.

  • What 2 religions are those supposed to be?

  • you would seriously consider Pat Robertson manipulative? Seriously? What has he been able to manipulate anybody to do in the lat 8 years?

  • It was science that kicked religion out of the schools, and perhaps this had something to do with the dearth of religious thought in subsequent generations. If you want ppl to think about something, try teaching it. That evangelical Christianity is the only thing strong enough to survive the onslaught only implies it was the strongest. Survival of the Fittest...remember?

  • kicking science out of the class room? its not like science was dominant in school systems 100 years ago... it was common and the norm to read the bible and pray in schools 100 years ago. now its going the other way around.

  • Wait, so the USA suffers from a cheese monopoly while religious competition leaves us free from religious tyranny? Funny, I can't remember the last time the cheese lobby tried to kick science out the classroom, the hospital and inject 'cheese' into the courtroom.
