Well, I got another "new" alarm. This is an IBM 6" Bell, model RVF-4015-6A. It's a vibrating bell, and runs on 115VAC. These bells were installed in my old ES, and that building is no longer in use, so when I spotted this on eBay, I went for it as soon as I saw it, and I ended up winning it! This is a vid of me testing it. As you can see, it still works PERFECTLY.

BTW, when I got this, the bell was red, but when it arrived, I went out and got spray paint and painted it grey to match the ones in my ES. But the red was NOT the origional color. Wherever this used to be, someone painted it red, because the red paint was chipping off, and once I took off the bell, it was all grey underneith. So, basically, I restored it to its origional color.

  • how many volts is that

  • 115 VAC.

  • They had this model bell at my elementary school. They've since been replaced by a tone that comes from a Simplex intercom system.

  • They had these in my ES too, except it was just the bell and the mechanism (no trim plate). They were used for both the class bells and the fire alarm (4-4 candace, single-stroke). The school is no longer in use anymore.

  • WOW at first I though this bell is huge and is on ur yard and a huge wire connected to the power line to run it!!!!!

  • I'm in my garage. I had the doors open so that the sound could escape, but what you see in the background is my backyard, and as stated, the bell is 115VAC, so I am plugging it in to make it ring.

  • They actually still have these exact same bells with the same mounting plate at one of the middle schools in my city, being rebranded by some other company instead of IBM. But they've all been disconnected and painted over, and they now just use the tones.

  • how big is that thing?

  • They STILL have those bells at one of the middle schools in my city. They all run off a newer Simplex 6400 master time panel (most of the clocks are also IBM, with a few Simplex ones too).

  • that is so so so big bell dude that is so lound

  • i have a similar bell

  • There's a junior high school near my house that used to have those school bells. But they are long gone now, they replaced it with a tone over the new PA system made by Simplex. They also used to have an Edwards fire alarm system with 360-L horns, but was replaced with a Simplex 4100U voice-evac system
