How to Update Your Action Replay Firmware to Work with Pokemon Black and White(1.71 and 1.25.14)

Warning-You must have your DS Version's Firmware at 1.60 or higher to update it, if you can find the update to 1.60 and use it please post it here so i can link people to it.

Trouble Shooting

Protocol Error?
This seems to occur usually when you are not the Admin of your PC, which tends to only occur with VIsta, however some other pc's have issues with this too. Just run as Administrator via Right clicking the application and your in business.

"Not a Valid Firmware"-
This seems to occur on the DS one and its an easy fix. Simply uninstall the DS action replay and ensure you get all traces like the USBIO and then uninstall the NDS Link. Then Simply reinstall.

Ensure you are running as the Administrator and your firewall isnt blocking your device.

"Not a Firmware File"-
Ensure that you have extracted/unzipped the compressed file via the winzip/7zip/or Winrar programs then drag and drop.

Anything else try reinstalling totally, and or deleting the entire game list updating then downloading the game list.

If you have to update for 1.60 or lower you wont be able to update.

@Protomario Hey man i just bought one of these yesterday at gamestop. I did not come with a disc. I downloaded the thing off codejunkies for the dsi action replay. I do not know where to go from here man, I don't know how to "extract a file." I chose all three of the "extract" choices and i still cannot get my ar to play. Some help would be much appreciated.

@ProtoMario i'm pretty much retarded when it comes to technology so i don't know how to go about getting my dsi ar updated i mean i get downloading the 1.25 update for it but i don't know what the hell to do from there i mean i'm sure somewhere along the line you already explained it but for me to understand it needs to be extremely simplified if you are able to help i would like that but if you can't then that's understandable i just do not at all understand what TO and what NOT TO do lol

When I drag the new firmware update for my Dsi, nothing happens. Basically says click commit changes, I do that. And theres no Pokemon White/Black version/ WTF?

i did all of that and my firmware is 1.71 but when i put my pokemon black inside the action replay it does everything right but when i get ready to play it freezes
