The Flip and Big One strikes again in the daytona 500, this time in the year 2004, on the backstretch. He and Brian Vickers make contact, and Michael gets sent towards the grass, colliding hard with Robby Gordon. This sends both cars out of control, and Michael's car catches wet grass, and digs in, sending him for a barrel roll. Many other cars were collected in the big wreck that followed.
these videos are really good. Thanks.

@NascarRacingfan14 From 2001 to 2006, FOX and NBC had a contract with NASCAR for broadcasting the races. Part of the deal was that the networks would switch off broadcasting the Daytona 500. FOX did the odd numbered years while NBC broadcasted the even numbered years. For example, FOX broadcasted the 500 in 2005, but NBC would get to broadcast the Pepsi 400. In 2007, a new contract with FOX, TNT, and ESPN gave FOX exclusive rights to the Daytona 500.

I wonder why FOX did not broadcast the 500 that year.

Counted 8. Only reason why Allen said 3 was cuz he didn't have the best view.
Also, it seems like drivers could actually get out of the car while it was upside down with the old car (Ryan Newman 2003 Daytona: example) but not with the new car. Guess that roof raise feature they added for the COT didn't exact work the best, now didn't it? Now drivers have to sit upside down in a stock car for about 15-20 minutes as oppossed to the old car where you could get out of the car quicker.
