@DavidRGilson I was wondering, what type of program did you use to create this fantastic special effect?

BRILLIANT! you genius!

That was cool! :D

Nice job. Been working on my own leaping effect in After Effects. How did you do the rays and the rings? I've pretty much got the rest of it figured out.

You need to create a tutorial man! Hook it up!

The rings and rays were just simple black and white images. The rays were lines from a central point, which I then random erased. The rings were the same, I just drew a ring, and then randomly used the erase tool to make gaps. The distortions in the rings were done with a plugin.

This is very good. I couldn't do better. The circle in the background could be a little smaller, or be animated, but you know what you're doing. Bravo!

Took a while to build up. As I mentioned above, the process is very similar to doing light sabers. I started off with four very basis images, two types of diverging "rays" and two sets of broken rings. The other part is cutting the person out of the image, so that you can effectively slip the rays and rings inbetween the subject and the background (easier if you have a blue/green screen, which I didn't - so I used a still image to reduce the work time required).
