Unboxing the Emu 1616 + Audio Technica 2020 mic

The E-mu 1616 comes in 3 flavors. PCI and Laptop versions, and an m version which has a little higher grade A/D converters.

I made this video because there was no E-mu 1616 videos on YouTube and also for the people on the Sweetwater forums who may be interested in one. When I get good service from a company I like letting people. I've gotten bad service before especially in the music industry where some are ego driven. That is why I do mention where I ordered from. They even had a packing slip signed by the packer in case their was any problems in shipping. They also called me to ask me if everything got here alright and if I was happy with it. hi! can you use it as a mixer and link directly to an amp??

It wouldn't be a good replacement for a mixer. You could go out from it to an amplified soundsystem. Alesis makes a nice inexpensive mixer that you can use as a regular mixer and also connect it via usb to your computer to record. It costs about $150

Watching this video showed me you can't always trust in what a person may say about a piece of gear. Which is good news. I don't know about many pieces of gear but I do know this one. That tells me that its something wrong with the user.

I've been using the emu card since the 1820m and never had one problem with it other than the ones I created by not applying myself with it

ive godda admit i really enjoyed this video, it is always better watching someone recieve something awesome.

I do have a question though, as a noob im pretty sure theres no usb connection to the soundcard or box so do you just plug you synth into any usb without sound loss issues?

EMU 1616m is a piece of shit. Doesn't even work with Cubase5. And it is extremely user UNFRIENDLY.
