NASA SDO - Filament eruption on December 6, 2010

At approx. 15:35 UT the large filament on the Sun erupted in a beautiful display as seen here in this video.

The location of the eruption and the magnetic field configuration at the place of the event suggest the impact on the Earth will be limited. More information will be available soon.
