Made my 1988 Giant Vac 8 HP I/C Leaf bower Electric start and added the alternator and Lights too .

great job on that, i sene people use gel type batteries, you could use a 12 volt 40 amp hour battery on that and not worry about acid spills or too much on space also you can mount them almost any position, check them on batterys plus, sometimes they list them, maybe about $25. Nice blower.,

I took the 8 all apart and what a mess it was a 1984 and I think it never had an oil change , there is a layer of Silver on the sump and was not a candidate to sell.
