The Central Islip High School Concert Choir (John Anthony, Director) performs Z. Randall Stroope's beautiful Omnia Sol (Let your heart be staid). George McKenzie accompanies the choir at the piano. Performed in the LeFrak Concert Hall at the Aaron Copland School of Music during the 4th Annual Queens College High School Choral Festival. John Anthony is a graduate of the Aaron Copland School of Music.
I had the amazing privilege to sing this beautiful piece in 4 different European countries in some of the most beautiful (and most acoustic!) cathedrals in the world while I was in High School. Sure brings back memories!!!
We're singing this in my choir. I sing the Bass 2 note at the end hahaha. This song is just so peaceful and it's get me pumped for graduation coming up in less than 4 months.
That song was really enjoyable, I think our group has the ability to surpass this group in many ways. It will be fun and exciting to see what our group is capable of when performing this piece.
Pretty good job overall. I think they have a slightly childish sound to them, I would like to hear a richer tone from a group like this. I also noticed that their facial expressions sorta bored me, I would have liked more emotion in there faces! Again, a great job by this group, but I would like to see more from them.
This is a great song. If only they added more phrasing, and kept their shaping on certain words with wide vowels (my, travail, stay, heart, may), this would turn this performance from great to exceptional. but that's just my opinion
I had a friend who died a few years ago. He was in our high school's choir, so we sang this song at his funeral. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. This song still brings back some of those memories. What a lovely melody and poem this song has.
love it

This song demonstrates how words should be sung. I feel like if I were reading this poem, this song would be how it sounded in my head.
