the Iraqi tanks were not only old russian tanks in comparison to modern allied tanks in 1990

but they were also downgraded export versions by the 70's standars!! till now the Russians never sell state of the art russian technology to any customer. so such analysis as per the above video is simply misleading and rediculous!! Americans never came face to face with real russian weopons or real russian technology

first. these are poor monkey models of the real t-72. second. this tank is outdated and is not one of the best tank on the battlefield (if not modernized) third. lets compare a t-72 to an american m60 or m48 patton.. a tank designed in 1974 and not modernized and a crew with poor traning vs a tank designed in 1991 and with a well trained crew.. lets be fair the t-72 is not a bad tank. its just old and the US are lucky to never ever have meet a modern t-72 with a well drilled crew

@John234pwns In one of famous Iraq vs USA battle M1s killed a lot of Iraq'a T72s BMP1s and other vehicles without loosing even one tank! (only one American soldier was killed in M2A2 bradley when he got APFSDS in head but this round been not from T72 but rather from BMP1 whitch alived after APFSDS hit).

The gun is very similar in accuracy and caliber, but the ammunition is different (T72 can use HEAT, APFSDS and HEF, some versions can use barell launched ATGMS, M1 can use HEAT, APFSDS, MPAT (with programmable fuse), some versions can use carnister rounds whitch like a huge shootgun)

T72 cannot kill M1 from any angle, but M1 can kill T72 from any angle. We must also remember that is easy to kill moving T72 by M1 and very hard to kill fast M1 by T72. Also Iraq have poor versions of T72.

Facts are following: M1s have thermal sight, only some types of T72 (ex. T72M1) have TIS, but TIS is that T72s are very poor. M1s have great FCS whitch allow it to easyly kill tank when it self is moving and when target is moving too.

T72s generally do not have lead calculation, but gun is also stabilised and it have rangefinder.

T72's armor is weak even with ERA, M1's (especially M1A1 HA) armor is multilayer and also some version have ERA (like TUSK variants). So M1s are much more better.
