  • I so got to buy some solar cells one of these days and get busy on this stuff.

I've otherwise got no shortage of electronics in my garage.

  • @GodGunsGutsGlory4KJV yes or just buy a panel that s easy to do. they are getting pretty cheap lol.

  • @shartne

I found some cheap slightly damaged cells online but never ordered any.

Seemed that it was the way to go so I could build 100 watts for no more than $100

That should be quite a bit cheaper than buying a panel already built. Unless things have changed.

Do you have a source for where you buy your cells?

  • @GodGunsGutsGlory4KJV you should build one for the fun of it any way I enjoy making them. I find a piece of glass at an antique store or second hand store I figure the glass should have a better life being a solar panel. Its just fun to make cool stuff. If you glue them to a glass and pour some encapsulation on them and put a frame around that it could last you long time. Plus it makes free electricity what could be better? You may need it later on. I just made one out broken cells works great!

    Cool deal.

I get so many projects going but with 4 kids I can't devote much time. :-(

My current project is setting up an Air Handler to cool my garage (shop) space by using refrigeration to heat the water in the water heater at the same time as blowing cold air into my garage (it's warm here).

They actually make water heaters to do this but no one knows about them and it's fun to make them home made.

Nothing like cooling the garage with the same energy that was heating the water!

G.E. is one of those "insiders" that appear to be exempt from Federal regulations. :-/

  • @cqammaz53 solar is a must no matter how u do it. I was informed today by my senator that the EPA was going to cost the state 80 million dollars a year to clean up the air which I might add will not make a big difference in air quality. not worth the cost. any how the electric bills will go up drastically how nice. why don't the EPA pick on GE the ones who made the nuke plants in Japan that we are being exposed to. Take your kelp pills to get iodine so you don t get thyroid cancer.

  • I love going GREEN but my husband not so much. I was looking for a new hobby/couple project that we could do together. I feel we will have a lot of fun making solor panals thanks to your videos.
