And yet, we use simple tools like calculators and computer programs to voluntarily augment our cognitive abilities. You can think of the human like a robot if you want, akithered, but I think of him as human 2.0

This poor guy seems to be just a little bit more than a robot. If the computer give instructions, then humans are useless.

not necessarily, humans are very deft and mobile. Some modern jobs are very complex or hard to learn. This would be an excellent training tool. Think of all the goods we could produce with a workforce that didnt have to think for itself!!!

(people dont think for themselves anyways lol, might as well take advantage of the situation :)

I'm not saying this isn't useful :) And of course has advantages! Actually such tools could just help in spatial analysis, while the human still manage the knowledge. But I still find this so sad... It's just a step away from replacing the guy. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.)

@jlubez I understand where you're coming from, but for most tech's it's not about fun anymore it's about fixing as many cars as possible in the shortest time possible and making that dollar.

Yeah, and there will be no need for interaction if we just have all of this dang technology to do it for us. =/...anybody ever heard of a game called Deus Ex? lol it talks about augmentations and reminds me of some of the stuff that is going on. :P
