Where is this exactly? Is this a good spot to learn? I'm in the SF bay area.

dude i don't know if you still do this but you're holding the bar totally wrong when you're on land/walking around. You'r holding the right side of the bar with your left hand which is super sketch. Hold the right side with your right hand in the middle and use your thumb to make little micro adjustments. Thats why you kooked out mid video as well.

Can I use a wakeboard instead of buying a kiteboard? Can you lauch yourself from land and sea, or do you need someone to help you? How many days during the year is it windy enough kite, or do you have to wait many days to get some time in?
Thanks.

@PDopey Even though they look similar kiteboards and wakeboards are different and you shouldn't learn on a wakeboard. Also the kite is usually the most expensive gear so you might as well buy the proper board as well. You can only relaunch on land if there is ample room and you know what you are doing. An instructor will discuss this with you at your local beach. Here in southern Cali we have many months where there is wind potential and you can easily get multiple days a week.

Doood, I was thinking about taking some lessons, how hard is it to get started on the water and board your first time, how hard is it to navigate through between the other people (how crowded is it)? What is the cost for a basic setup and lessons?
Thanks.

@PDopey Its a pretty hard sport to learn but the hard part is becoming a good kite flyer. Crowds can be annoying but its best to learn on less crowded days. If you want to try it talk to an instructor near you. Its a pretty expensive sport but worth it.
