Hey Everyone .....its HOT....HOT ....HOT.... hope you are all staying cool. This song is based on Family Folklore of sorts..... a place frequently talked about by my Mother, Father, Aunts and Uncles. It is of course the local Juke Joint in West-By-God-Virginia, where my parents grew up, in the mid to late 40's. (SIMPLE TIMES)....but werent they all...... Harrison county...just across the hill from Clarksburg in a town known as Arlington. The Juke Joint of course is JACKSON's....as I recall there was no road to it....just a path that led in from town on one side and another path that crossed a swinging bridge for traversing the river, on the other side. I went back at Christmas time...NOTHINGS CHANGED IN 45 years. But the memories are priceless ..and I took my son on the Here's where Dad grew up tour.....once again ..PRICELESS.........Hope youre have a great summer......ENJOY.!

Jackson's (Original Song Copyright -2010)

Well I'm heading down to Jackson's
Just to hear that guitar sing
Saturday's that Juke Joint's jumping
To that Old Hillbilly Swing
Hey come the break of dawn, they all move on
When those church bells start to ring
Don't you know down at Jackson's you're the King

Now on Friday Nights
The Boys get tight
Worked all week in the hole
Yeah, they're out to run and have some fun
Dust off that mountain coal
Well Now, just one wrong word and things get rough
But it never does get old
Yeah don't you know, down at Jackson's their the King's

Chorus
Hey the girls bop in with pony tails, plaid skirts and two tone shoes
Daddy's money, Momma's looks and an uptown attitude

Take your worries down to Jackson's
Stop and check them at the door
Grab yourself a beer, then tip the band
And head out on the floor
Hey, if you take the time to stop in once
You'll sure be back for more
Yeah, don't you know, down at Jackson's your the King

Chorus
Hey the girls bop in with pony tails, plaid skirts and two tone shoes
Daddy's money, Momma's looks and an uptown attitude

Yeah, I'm heading down to Jackson's
Just to hear that guitar sing
Saturday's that Juke Joint's jumping
To that Old Hillbilly Swing
Hey come the break of dawn, they all move on
When those church bells start to ring
Don't you know down at Jackson's you're the King
