Far from a local artist. He is on a major label had had a top 40 release last year (called Pants). On the same label as Darius Rucker and Eric Church (whichever that one is). He isn't just a 'local songwriter'. He is predicted to be the breakout artist of 2012.
He is going to be much like Brantley Gilbert. A little cup of tea here and there and then BOOM Aldean butchers two of his songs (My Kinda Party and Dirt Road Anthem) but it gets him the exposure.

Rodney absolutely nailed this tune. Walker Hayes has to be proud...what a cool honor to have an artist absolutely bring a tune to life like Rodney did. This is a standard. Rodney take this mother to the top. number one...you da man

I saw the original writer of this song sing this song in concert. He was opening for trace adkins in Monterey Ca, His names Walker Hayes. Hes pretty good. I guess he was a local artist who got a song cut by rodney atkins. Good stuff.

I encourage you all to check out the songwriter, Walker Hayes, version of this song. Both great versions but both styles are so different.

My boyfriend works in the oil riggs out of state, the night before he left we fought and went to sleep not talking.. He txtd this song to me to listen to.. Thank you for posting it :)
