  • The suicide grip is nothing more than useless, and dangerous broscience passed down from one bro to another in gyms all across the world. No one should use it under any circumstances and anyone trying to claim different is just a bro trying to justify their brodom.

"But I know these huddddge guys at my gym who use it!!"

Big ripped guys are the worse source of bro science, as people tend to believe whatever they say.

Anecdotal evidence does not trump facts. Do your damn research, bro.

  • suicide grip can be beneficial, but there's just not many people out there who take the time to properly learn it and use weight to match how experienced they are with the grip. I'm sure that guy was strong enough to max on 300, but he clearly wasn't ready to try a 1RM with a thumbless/suicide grip.

  • first off the top comments who are knocking the suicide grip... dont be ignorant.. for a lot of people it saves their wrists and if dont correctly (ie. keeping palms flat and all other fingers gripped tight) its safe.. and second i agree with everybody that it wasnt the spotters fault.. this guy was just a dumb ass

  • The spotter didn't miss his mark. The guy benching is using a false grip. If he had his damn thumbs wrapped around the bar this shit wouldn't happen.

  • in the 1st rep it is very obvious he cant handle the weight, yet he still proceed.

  • call medicccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc

  • Unless you have 100% confidence, do not use thumbless(false)grip.....jesus.........that being said all the people on here saying it's the wrong way, matter of opinion, is it the safest....no, but personally I find it a lot easier on the wrists and more stable...as to numerous power lifters and body builders..........just make sure u can control the weight

  • Wow...way to not grip the bar with your thumbs :| Is that why everyone calls it suicide grip?

  • @2CrazEy1 That would never had happened if he had the brainpower to use his thumbs.
