I'm not a phd in this shit, But i think that this completely destroys gods moral law standard your always bitching about , I'm more of a moral person then most christians i know . So what gives them the right to say i go to hell and they go to heaven? Epicurus was a great thinker and if you have any responses , Please do it.
Please don't respond with
* God is to complex and beyond human reason
* Epicurus was a shitty thinker
or anything among the terms of that as Those responses are just dumber then Christianity it's self.

  • @DesecrateConformity Words give actions meaning.

  • @MastaMattv2 But the thing is, you say 'what is right?' Nothing really in an objective sense is right, it just is. We place value on things, and say 'that is wrong' or 'that is right', that's all I was pointing out in my first comment. It's all contrived.

  • @MastaMattv2 Yea, but people aren't BORN with inherent morals. We didn't (and sometimes still don't) think that it's wrong to kill people from other societies. It's our attachment to people which determines our rules, not an intrinsic moral code or God-given moral code. And some individuals don't think murder is wrong, especially if you murder for certain reasons. There is no intrinsic moral code. It's totally societal and derived from our attachment to material things and people.

  • @DesecrateConformity is genetics, Your conscious will either let you do it , or make you feel guilt or what ever. It's hard to tell what side your on becuase of

    a. the lack of organization and combination of me not giving enoguh of a fuck to figure it out

    b. random arguments that have the least bit of coloration to the opening argument

    c. i'm probably debating someone whos on my side.

  • @DesecrateConformity

You can't say that without radical justification. Well no , I mean factual, if you raised a bunch of people on an island , and there was a little civilization going for thousands of years , i think you could say that they would be able to at one point , weather its 50 years or 50,000 years, determine that killing is wrong. But then again what determines right? I beleive it's a genetic thing that sets that for us . you go to kill someone , but something you can't change

  • @Kokodopui that murder is wrong, they don't even know what it is. It's totally derived from society and our attachment to things and people. And there's the evolution of society, it has given up on the 'don't covet your neighbors shit, or whatever god damn rule that is'. It has given up on the banning of homosexuality. All religion ever has been is a social construct, and that's all it will ever be.

  • @Kokodopui That is an utterly ridiculous notion. First of all, 'stealing' didn't really exist in many egalitarian indigenous peoples. We didn't think murdering people that aren't members of society is wrong. Some people think having sex with children is right, are they just, exempt from these morals? Ever since civilization's inception, people have grown more attached to things. This is the only reason why we have these 'morals'. And newborns aren't born with morals. They don't know

  • @mastaMattv2 "why does God not help us, if He loves us." You don't claim to believe in God, but He loves you so much! You sound like a good person, but God demands perfection. He knows you aren't perfect so He made a plan. He sent his own son to die and pay for your shortcomings and mine. That's how much He loves us! It is my hope that both you and DesecrateConformity will come to know His son as Savior. Deut 4:29 if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.

  • @MastaMattv2 Just saying it's genetics vs environment doesn't get you anywhere either. The very fact that human nature and human morals can vary (which they do throughout the world), is evidence to the fact that society determines morals more than genetics. I agree that it is unreasonable to assume that there is a god, but also unreasonable it out altogether, that's why I'm an atheist agnostic.

  • @DesecrateConformity Completely diffrent arugment. It's Genetics vs eviorment. Genetics you cannot change, You can change what is imposed on you however. Bottom line is there is no evidence for god's existance, nor is there evidence of there not being god. I beleive that if there is a god, it's above our understanding of the phenomenological world. it doesn't apply to physics , it's incromprehendable, it's trying to think of a color you haven't seen , You can only think of shades.
