The Scion xB was redesigned for the 2008 model year. Its size and weight have increased sufficiently to reclassify it as a small car. (The earlier design was classified as a minicar.)
Injury measures:

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:

Driver — The dummys head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

Rear passenger — The dummys head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

  • Thank God. I saw the video of the 06 xB with a side crash and that was not pleasant. Good thing I'm driving the 08.

  • Radio* not wadis...

  • I've always wondered... Why do they use production components (radios, etc.) in these tests? I know they want to test the vehicle under real world conditions, but on the frontal offset wouldn't a fake wadis (made to be the same weight, dimensions et al) be better? It wouldn't have to be scrapped. (PS, I'm not asking why they use production mechanical parts... Just electronics)

  • LOL look at the bumper at 0:02

  • um... how is this good? the passenger looked like their neck snapped

  • are there any crash tests for the scion XA ?

  • I have this XB but somehow my insurance charges me more than my last old 2003 VW GTI.

  • Well it looks like I'm safe in my car then! Love the xB!!!

  • @mrkevindshore amen! that side crash test of the old xbs is SCARY!

  • damn that would hurt, but the air bags will help a ton. You also have to remb that people dont flop around so easy like those dummies =D
