i agree with naja46, the 70s was the best decade for music, 14 years old when this was out, `1972 my favourite year. most of todays music is rubbish, if only we could go back.

great memories, i was in the Royal Marines when this record came out.What happy memories. Lots of good sounds around at that time but this stands out.

I had the pleasure of seeing these guys at rainworth welfare a while ago they stood in for the ivy leauge im so glad they did the were absolutely brilliant.

When asked what is your fav decade for music, I always say 65-75, loads of songs like this, catchy tunes that you can play over & over, thanks for posting.

This was one of my favourite songs back then , I was 16 when it came out & I still have the record gathering dust somewhere ! I love it as much today as I did then , a fabulous song & I still know all the lyrics . Thanks for posting this , brings back many good memories of the wonderful 70's , in my opinion , the best decade ever for music . Good stuff !

@naja46 It's a great tune isn't it, this recording is from the old 45. I was 13 at the time and remember spending my dinner money on it... I lived on crisps back then haha.
Thank you for listening, Lynsey De Paul deserves some credit for writing this piece of pop nostalgia.
